Overview of the role

If you’re deeply passionate about helping people succeed in finding paths toward new and rewarding careers, this role is for you. The Career Services Program Manager will be the leader in all aspects of career coaching and guidance at Momentum. This role will be heavily people-focused while requiring someone to be organized, detail-oriented, and good with navigating software systems and tools to support their efforts. If you’re a strong verbal and written communicator, love working with people from all walks of life, and have the ability to champion and inspire other people, we want to talk to you about this role! 

The ideal candidate

  • Has 5+ years of experience in any of the following areas: Talent Acquisition, Training, Tech Industry Sales, Employer Relations, and/or Business Development.
  • Has experience with career coaching, recruiting, or student services. 
  • Has a passion for helping people and aiding in career and professional development
  • Can talk in front of a room and feels comfortable developing and delivering career guidance curriculum 
  • Is familiar with tech industry hiring processes 
  • Enjoys and excels in the art of networking 
  • Enjoys setting deadlines and meeting deliverables for projects 
  • Is passionate about tech and community
  • Believes in our mission and wants to be an active participant in building Momentum 
  • Has fun at work

The job responsibilities 

  • Guide students through their job search through one-on-one, small, and large group settings. 
  • Document and communicate all information relevant to a student’s job search.
  • Identify, initiate, and cultivate relationships with a variety of employers both regional and national in order to match students with companies based on mutual needs and interests. 
  • Build cross-functional relationships within and across companies, recruiters, hiring managers, and leaders within multiple business units, even in the same organization to ensure a long-term right point of connection.  
  • Serve as a consultant to employers by following up throughout a students interview processes, collect feedback for students and our team, and provide any requested guidance to employers unfamiliar with hiring junior candidates 
  • Communicate closely with instructors to understand the progress and strengths of each student in order to provide them with the best career guidance possible  
  • Continually evaluate and refine the processes around student career services, including all aspects of the process from software tools to career curriculum.  
  • Communicate employment wins to the company and Momentum alumni to highlight students/graduates successes. 
  • Work alongside the Campus Manager to create unique opportunities for employers to build their brand, interact with students, and interview potential candidates
  • Be able to balance the art of aiding a student in their job search, keeping them motivated and empowered to own their own career

  • We offer 15 vacation days a year plus holidays. These days are for you to take a vacation and unwind away from work. We will be diligent in not contacting you while you’re on vacation. Enjoy your time off! We believe it’s healthy for you to take it and encourage employees to take all their allotted days. (Due to the nature of the work, vacation time may be limited during the duration of a course and advance notice will be required to allow us to plan.)

  • Our team interacts with students daily. If a student has to miss a day because they are sick, it is a big deal. If you are sick, we need you to stay home. Sick days are not considered vacation days, and we have not assigned a limit. We trust our employees to know when they need to stay home to get well and not spread illness.
