Ready for a chance to work with interesting technology and collaborate with awesome people? CrossComm is looking for a Content Marketing Specialist to join its app development studio in Durham, NC.


CrossComm is seeking a Content Marketing Specialist that will regularly write and produce various types of content (e.g., blogs, social media content, email-marketing content, copy-editing) with consistent messaging in line with CrossComm values to expand our company’s digital footprint, awareness, subscribers, and leads. This role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, storytelling ability, and project management skills in order to kickstart and consistently continue our content marketing efforts. 

The Content Marketing Specialist will also work directly with the CEO and Director of Business Development to align our content marketing messages with our overall company values and business strategy. Joining an entrepreneurial environment rooted in a long-standing business built on a reputation of honesty, transparency, authenticity, and quality, this person will roll up their sleeves and collaborate seamlessly within the team. This individual will know how to prioritize certain marketing assets over others, will create a variety of marketing collateral and content, and will measure the effectiveness of marketing activities in order to pivot when necessary.

Responsibilities include:

  • Produce! Work with various subject matter experts on the team to create content that demonstrates our thought leadership and represents our company values and voice on an ongoing basis to drive sales and build brand awareness; such content may include blog posts, marketing collateral, ebooks, reports, infographics, webinars, social media content, email marketing content. 
  • Assist in lead generation by converting site traffic through calls-to-action, landing pages, and lead generation content.
  • Run regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success, ranging from Twitter chats to LinkedIn conversations, as well as the content and links posted through these and other channels.
  • Assign metrics to measure the performance and effectiveness of content marketing campaigns and strategies, analyze results, and use analysis to inform recommendations for direction to leadership. 
  • Establish closed-loop analytics with sales to understand how our inbound marketing activity turns into customers, and continually refine our process to convert customers.


Must Haves:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience.
  • A strong understanding of our industry.
  • Experience producing content for the web specifically, as well as channel-specific knowledge (e.g., blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube).
  • A proven track record and measurable results producing online and social content that translates to actionable leads. 
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of our company and values.
  • Proven experience effectively translating innovative technology concepts to a diverse audience. 
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
  • Active and well-rounded personal presence on social media, with a command of each network and their best practices.
  • Proficiency with Mailchimp email marketing campaigns.

Nice to Haves: 

  • A known network in the Raleigh-Durham-RTP area, US Southeast technology market / app development space.
  • In-depth knowledge of CRMs (e.g., Hubspot, Copper) to blog and produce smart CTAs according to visitor lifecycle stage.
  • Experience with building, segmenting and managing various email lists and campaigns, including the design templates, calls-to-action, and content used in your email sends.
  • Experience with marketing automation and lead-nurturing processes that leverage email, content, and social channels.
  • Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization.
  • Experience working in a small team environment (10-20 person).
  • Past experience collaborating with video-editors and related professionals to create effective multimedia content for marketing and inbound lead generation. 
  • Graphic design, visual design, and/or video-editing experience.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
